Are you a Potter maniac? Well, then you have to wait a few more months to taste the legendary tales in electronic form. An e-book store that is going to be included in the online Potter portal pottermore.com, has been delayed and pushed back to 2012. No doubt, heart aching news for Potter fans. However, you can't help it. The seven Harry Potter books were due to go on sale in October exclusively through the pottermore.com, which is an amalgamation of a virtual encyclopaedia, Potter games, and online community launched in July 2010.
However, in a blogpost on the website, the pottermore.com management said that the programme has been delayed and would now open in "the first half of 2012."
The management of the Pottermore website described the event as phenomenal and said that this interruption would allow them to focus more on their first priority: opening pottermore.com to as many people as possible and making the experience as good as it can be.
Till date, Harry Potter novels have sold 450 million copies worldwide and made Rowling one of the world's richest women, with a fortune estimated by Forbes magazine at $1 billion. However, the e-book is going to be a completely new venture and perhaps will succeed. But this decision annoyed some booksellers who wanted to sell the books through their own website.
Perhaps you are thinking about whether it'll be compatible with your e-book reader or not. Let me tell you that the creators of potterore.com have said that the e-books will be compatible with popular e-readers, including Amazon's Kindle, Sony's Reader and Apple's iPad.
